Winter Colors, 2019 - ongoing
It had just begun – that relentless winter and spring. We were grateful, at first, to be exiting a long drought, noticing remarkable details, like beads of liquid glass clinging to barren trees that conveyed a promise of relief. Then came our next catastrophe. We were stuck inside, isolated, peering through the glass again. These images are single photographs taken through water and some are montaged views as rains briefly relented to reveal delicate jeweled moments. They are printed on metal and acrylic to convey a sense of reflection and refraction as in a mirrored window.
