Much of this work is my attempt to reconstruct real and imagined histories. 

When my parents died, I inherited the family photo archive. Sifting through it, I was especially drawn to photographs my father and mother exchanged while he was stationed in Europe during and after World War 2. Often there a charming and intimate notes on the back of these images that belie the loneliness and sadness they must have been experiencing.

I scanned quite of few of these visual and verbal correspondences and began to combine them along with text from their notes and letters, plus a few elements of my own photographs.

Taken together, they led me to pursue a theme I have been following ever since, "Love and War".
